We're all humans. Well most of us are. Meaning we all make mistakes. From something as simple as adding too much sugar to the cookies you're baking., All the way up to hitting a car while switching lanes because you didn't check your blind spot. Mistakes happen that we often regret. Even when your actions were at one point intentional, it's okay to admit you made a mistake. We can not grow without recognizing our wrong doings, and attempting to right our wrongs. It's all a part of our personal journeys, and the mystical truth of "figuring it out".
At some point or another, we've all been wronged by someone we thought was incapable of wrong doing. Truth be told, it sucks because it hurts. It's almost always from a person we put a large amount of love and trust into. Think about it.. someone you don't care for would have a hard time harming you or doing you wrong. When this happens, it throws us completely off balance. We look at that person differently. We even look at other people differently. We even question life itself and the sincerity of others.
What I've learned is that these thought processes tend to be more damaging to self than the actual act of wrong doing. By allowing someone or something to continue having a negative impact on you, keeps you bound to that person or that act of wrong doing. It is impossible to truly.. LET IT GO. Grudges are unhealthy for the spirit, and they put a block on the spiritual growth you can gain from a situation. Life is about lessons, and if you continue to beat yourself up about something that happened, how will you ever learn? The truth is, whatever it is, HAPPENED. There are no time machines. There are no reset buttons. There are no do-overs in life. Only lessons we can all learn and grow from. So what are you going to do? Continue holding grudges, or let yourself grow? Are you going to stay stuck on a mistake you made in the past, or are you going to learn and grow from that mistake?
Life is too short, don't waste another minute on that which can not be changed.
